The short answer
5G proxies can be faster. They are not more trusted. Websites judge an IP by the carrier it belongs to, not by the radio technology of the device behind it. Pay extra for 5G only if speed limits your work.
What the labels mean
- 4G and LTE are, for a buyer, the same thing: the fourth generation of mobile networks. Most mobile proxies in the world run on it.
- 5G is the newer generation. It offers higher speeds and lower delay where coverage is good.
- "4G/5G" in a product name usually means the device uses whichever is available at that moment.
What stays the same
How websites see you
A website sees an IP address and the carrier that owns it. It cannot see whether the device connected over 4G or 5G. Both come out through the carrier's shared addresses, and both get the trust that mobile IPs have.
How the IP behaves
The address is still shared with other subscribers, and it still changes from time to time. 5G does not give you a fixed IP.
What can differ
| 4G / LTE | 5G | |
|---|---|---|
| Speed | Enough for browsing and most automation | Higher where coverage is good |
| Delay | Higher | Lower |
| Coverage | Almost everywhere | Mainly cities, varies by country |
| Availability from sellers | Wide | More limited |
| Trust on websites | The same | The same |
Real speed depends on more than the generation: signal strength where the device sits, how busy the cell is, and how far the proxy is from you and from the website.
When 5G is worth it
- You load full pages with images in a real browser, many times an hour
- You move video or other large files
- Your tool is sensitive to delay, and timeouts cost you
For logging in to accounts, checking ads or calling an API, 4G is fast enough and you will not notice the difference.
What to ask a seller instead
The generation tells you little. These questions tell you more:
- Which countries and carriers are available?
- Is it a shared pool or a device of my own? See rotating vs dedicated.
- How and when does the IP change?
- What speed should I expect in practice?

Frequently asked questions
Are 5G proxies better than 4G proxies?
They can be faster. They are not harder to block, because websites judge the carrier that owns the IP and cannot see the radio technology.
Is LTE the same as 4G?
For choosing a proxy, yes. LTE is the technology most 4G networks use, and sellers use the two names for the same product.
How fast are mobile proxies?
It varies a lot with signal, network load and distance. Expect speeds that are fine for browsing and automation, and slower than a datacenter proxy.
